Catoblepas

Catoblepas are creatures that graze the plains and grasslands. Four stubby legs support their large, round bodies while a long neck supports their oversized heads that hover just above the ground where they eat the grass. If they eat poison plants they can develop poison breath, but the poison itself has no ill affect on them. It's said that they have a stare that will turn a person to stone, but they have hair that cover their eyes and they never lift their heads to look up.
