Gnoles are humanoid coyote creatures who live in just about every environment on Erda. Their thick hide resists scratches and bruising much like leather armor. Various styles of fur allow them to adapt to both heat and cold. Gnoles in the coldest environment develop thick and long fur while those in the hottest environments have little to no fur on their bodies. The typical gnole has an intelligence level that rivals humanity, although most humans consider them to be at a lower level than themselves. They tend to be a chaotic race, relying more on displays of strength, thievery, and trickery rather than honor and loyalty. Gnoles consider themselves better than humans and will attempt to show their superiority by attacking humans and other humanoid creatures on-sight. For this reason gnoles and humans have never been able to get along with one another.
