Catoblepas

Creatures that graze the plains. They have four stubby legs supporting their round bodies. Long necks support their oversized heads that hover just above the ground where they eat the grass. If they eat poison plants they can develop poison breath. It's said that they have a stare that will turn a person to stone, but they have hair that cover their eyes and they never lift their heads to look up.
